Welcome to the Home of Bristol Thunder Korfball Club

About Us

Bristol Thunder was founded in 2011 by a group of ex-Bristol University players. From its humble beginnings as the newest club in Bristol, Thunder has fledged into the largest Korfball Club in the South-West and one of the largest outside of London.

The Club

Our training sessions are run in sports halls right in the centre of Bristol and take place on weekday evenings. For more info on times and locations hit the ‘Training’ link on the menu above.

Thunder now fields five squads and is represented all the way from the top tier of the English National Korfball League down to the second division of the South-West League, with a membership of over 60 people comprising korfballers who’ve been playing for decades all the way through to brand new players.

Why Korfball?

Korfball is a great alternative to basketball and netball and is played by both men and women together. We train and play indoors which makes Korfball a brilliant sport for the the winter months. If you’d like to know more about the sport and how to play check out the ‘What is Korfball?’ tab above.

If you’re interested in coming along then send us an email at thunderkorf@gmail.com – we’re currently operating a standby list for new members due to space restrictions and a recent influx of new korfballers, so we’ll let you know how we’re looking for space when you get in touch! We’d also suggest taking a look at our friends at Bristol City Korfball Club, Bristol Hornets Korfball Club and the University of Bristol Korfball Club – all full of lovely welcoming people ready to show you what Korfball is all about!
